This Chocolate Date Cake is vegan, nut and sugar free!
This naturally sweetened chocolate date cake is soft, rich, and incredibly easy to make. Using wholesome ingredients like oats and dates, it’s a nourishing treat that works perfectly as an afternoon snack, lunchbox bake, or healthier dessert. It’s vegan, nut-free, and naturally sweet—making it a great option for the whole family.
Ingredients
• 1 cup dates (about 25)
• 1 cup warm almond milk
• 1 cup oat flour (blend about 1½ cups oats)
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• ½ tsp baking powder
• Chocolate chips (optional)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. In a bowl, add the dates and warm milk. Let them soak for about 30 minutes until soft.
3. Blend the dates and milk together into a smooth paste.
4. Add the paste to a bowl with the remaining ingredients and mix well.
5. Pour the mixture into a lined loaf tin and spread evenly.
6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
